Well i put the car up on a trailer and took it to the drag strip yesterday to see what i could get out of my baby after all the hard work.

I ran a pass of 14.4 @ 116 MPH

Just thought if there are any other turbo B18B Tegs out there and what sort of 1/4 mile times they are running

T3/T4 turbo 170kw at the wheels, standard road tyres and yes wheels spin was a problem all the way until 4th gear. I let the tyres down to 15psi which made a bit of a difference but on take off instead of launching it bogged it down a bit.
I really thought i would of been faster

Any hints to get the car to launch quicker and get the power to the ground..

trapping 116 mph, you cant do much with street tires to cut down on your time..

time to get some slicks and traction bar...

I am assuming your power is rated at 170 KILOWATTS

Is that was kw means? I wikipedia'ed it and thats the only measurement of power it lists with that abbreviation. Then I went to convertit.com and got the following result:

170 kilowatt = 227.973755231155 horsepower (power)

That seams a bit low for a t3/t4. What are the specs on your turbo and the rest of the setup.

Also please tell me I am mistake and that you are putting down more than 227hp.

Well its deffinatley not a 12sec car, i wish.. lol

Yes shore96teg you are right, Kilowatts is the correct measurement which does equal 227.9 HP or 170 front wheel kilowatts i am putting down.

My setup is:
t3/t04e 57 trim
stock motor
LSD b16 sir tranny
2.5" catback
3" dp
tial 50mm bov
tial 44 mm WG open dump
precision 600rated FMIC
550 RCs
hondata tuned
FP.

made 302whp @ 9psi

best ET:
12.8@112.7
best mph
13.0@113.7

So..116mph trap seems out of the question @ 227whp

This is what doesnt make sense... Rusty Jones im running 10psi and only getting 227whp.. How does that work when we are running almost the similar setups although you have Vtec being a GSR dont you.

Was your times on racing slicks or normal street tyres and did the LSD make much difference?

Also what is a precision 600rated FMIC?

Vtec head flow a lot better then LS heads

If you have having a spinning issue let off the gas a little then get back on it(engine slows down), or another trick it to hit rev limit in first like 1 or 2 times and the shift(tires catch up).

thats not going to make a 70 hp difference though.

Consider this dyno chart:

This is with a GT3251 Turbo which is a straight T3 with a .52 A/R on a bone stock LS engine

a T3/T4 should be tickling the 300's on an LS man.

Who tuned your car OP?

Deffinatley having Vtec would help....

cluelessmale, Thats what i tried, rev limiter bounces in at 7200rpm and it does let the tyres catch up but as soon as im back on it the tyres light up again. only at half track it holds ground and takes off like no tomorrow.

So because you couldn't trap X mph with more power, it means he couldn't? Come on, man...

As far as you numbers go, there is nothing wrong with them. they could be a little higher, but there is certainly nothing wrong with it. I find that shops in countries like Australia and England tune much more conservatively then we do over here in the States and I believe it's an experience thing. I think that turbo Honda's are WAY more common over here than they are over there. Everybody in Australia has a Nissan and wants to be a drifter :)

To the OP, my advice to you is, get some practice launching and controlling your spinning and then get some slicks and go have some fun.

thanks for your opinion... CJ you are so right Drifters are us, well wannabe drifters that is... Not me though and nissans are more popular than Krispy Creme Donuts. There are a lot of Honda fans here but not many at all that are willing to spend the bucks on turbo. Thats why i love this site so much info overload on Honda's let alone guys that are boostin them.

I think an LSD isnt out of the question either..

I have a time slip were i ran a 15.4 @ 116mph

My 60 foot times range from 2.2 to 2.6, and reaction times are 0.5 to 0.7.... so my 60 foot times are pretty slow off the mark due to traction issues!!

What 60 foot times are all you guys running???
